Major Projects
QUARTER 1
5 Minute Walk
This Five Minute Walk project is truly special to me as the photos were taken as I went to see my grandfather that I never met's grave. These pictures were taken throughout the beautiful town of Providence, Rhode Island and this project was a great way to start the year. I put together five of my fav write pictures and it created a very beautiful collage that I am very proud to have made. This one truly does mean a lot to me and definitely my favorite major project.
Faces in Places
For this major project we had to find a collection of pictures based on the idea pareidolia. Pareidolia is a phenomenon whereby our brains find familiar patterns amongst random objects, mainly displaying faces. After ransacking my home I was able to find 9 different images which displayed face like qualities. I then placed them all in a collage creating a wonderful Faces in Places project, that was quite fun to assemble.
Panograph
The pantograph project was definitely beautiful and I enjoyed the making of this project as well as the image displayed. For this project we were told to get our heads out of scenes and go out into nature! We then had to take multiple amounts of pictures of a horizontal scene, constantly raising our phone and moving. We had to make sure that the images would then over lap coming together to create one big image.
Virtual Photo Gallery
For our final project in quarter 1, we were starting from scratch and making our very own virtual photo gallery. Now this was no walk in the park, however it did a great job increasing our raw photoshops skills and was definitely a blast. There were definitely an insane amount of tools used for this project, making it very hard to name them all. It was a challenge, however I am very pleased with the final project and this was definitely a great way to display some of our projects.
QUARTER 2
Picture in a Picture
1st Picture:
This first picture was done digitally, this required two separate pictures. One of the pictures was taken of the background scene and the other one was taken of me holding up an old mirror. Through photoshop I put the background scene as my first layer with the picture of me holding the mirror above it on a second layer. I was then able to erase the the mirror and behind it was the background. This then created a an illusion of the background almost being through me.
2nd Picture:
The second picture was created using an old baby photo and the scene where it was taken. We were then told to put the old baby photo in the same location the photo was once taken in. We then had to take the picture of the picture in the same location where the original picture was taken.
3rd Picture:
The third picture was taken with an empty frame and a wall in my basement. The intent was to put the frame on something, making it actually look like the scene behind it could be a real painting. I thought the flower scene in my old basement would be perfect to create this illusion of a painting in a frame.

Big Things in a Small World
For this major project, we had to take a picture of a landscape/scenery and then put something that is way to big to belong there in the scenery. As you can see in the top right corner above the picture, I used a scenery of a hill from a friends house. Then used my friends from the picture in the top left and super sized them on to the scenery in order for it too look way to big for the image. This project was definitely a blast and a fantastic way to end off the semester.
